The research study “Everyone’s talking about living” (Alla talar om boende)” has been implemented against the background of a discussion between Linnaeus University and Smart Housing Småland with regard to the option of establishing an environment for interdisciplinary, cross-border living research.
The aim has been to make it possible to process the field of living research more effectively, thereby contributing to the development of new knowledge that meets the needs of society.
Issues based on “living” are of major interest to society and of great significance to private individuals and the business community. Linnaeus University is able to use research to develop new and sought-after knowledge in a unique profile by developing a platform for transdisciplinary and cross-border research in the fields of living, construction, design and sustainable development, from a holistic perspective. This would provide scope for thematic work for the higher education institution’s researchers from a number of institutions.
Research based on people, our lives, dreams and needs (protection, security, comfort and stimulation) may become one of Linnaeus University’s important profile areas and help to develop sought-after knowledge that is highly relevant.
It is proposed that a platform for living research should include research in the fields of living, construction, design and sustainable development.
